Vintage Teardrop Trailer Plans & Magazines
The Shoulders That Builders Stand On
These historic teardrop trailer articles and plans helped shape my first teardrop trailer build in 2006. Now 14 years and countless teardrop camper builds later, I still see these plans as critical to the teardrop trailer builder.
So many design concepts were established after WWII. Just a glance at the publishing dates shows the wave of creativity that occurred starting right after the war in 1946. Trailers that integrated fishing pole holders, utilized war surplus materials, and championed the off-road camping style.
Sure, some of these plans had glaring flaws (which is why not many are still around) but the ideas are easy to adapt.
I still look back at these vintage teardrop trailer plans for inspiration.
